SPONSORSHIP TRAINING
(15 September and 20 October, 1300 –1400, A&FRC). Relocation is one of the most stressful aspects of military life. You can make a member’s adjustment to life at Langley AFB much easier by learning about new resources and tips on how to be the best sponsor you can be. Sponsorship is an important responsibility and your efforts make a difference. First time sponsors must attend this training. The A&FRC is available to conduct Sponsorship Training during your unit training days or at Commander's Call.

BUNDLES FOR BABIES (15 Sept, 20 October, 1600-1730, A&FRC). Supports soon to be parents by offering educational program on what to expect from pregnancy and parenting. As a bonus, attendees receive a “bundle” valued at $75. TRANSITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (TAP) (20-24 Sep, 25-29 October) Thinking about retirement or separation? 5-Day Transition Assistance Program (TAP) Workshop provides the information and tools you will need for a smooth transition to civilian life. Learn how to research job opportunities, write your best resume, interview successfully and negotiate the best salary for your new career! VETERANS AFFAIRS BENEFITS AND DISABILITY TAP PRESENTATIONS (2 Sep and 25 Oct 1300-1600). All separating and retiring airmen (and their spouses) are encouraged to attend this presentation whether or not they attend the week long TAP workshop. The afternoon includes a claims workshop.

MARKETING YOURSELF FOR A SECOND CAREER (2 Sept, 1300-1600 Auditorium room 203) Targets the needs of retiring members. Seminar topics include competition in the civilian job market, perceptions civilian employers have of military personnel, job search plans, resume strengthening tips and networking. The presenter is a military retiree and you and/or your spouse will benefit from the things he learned in his transition to civilian life and a successful second career.
RESUME WRITING WORKSHOP (1 Sep and 6 Oct, 0930- Noon, A&FRC) Learn the basics on how to write the perfect resume to land the perfect job. Call the A&FRC to reserve a seat.
LUNCH AND LEARN SERIES- UNDERSTANDING THE TSP (Friday 17 September, 1130-1430, A&FRC). Come out and get information on the Thrift Savings Plan, a retirement investment opportunity for civilians and active duty! ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE (ESL) (Every Mon and Fri 1000 a.m. -1200, A&FRC) ESL is an all sensory course that develops basic vocabulary and languages skills necessary for student’s everyday communication. Each class (beginner, intermediate, advanced) focuses on group participation to develop pronunciation of basic English vocabulary for non-native speakers. Students learn about and use additional language resources as well as benefit from social and cultural interactions with others, resulting in an expanded role as citizens of an “international community.”
